We have collected on one page all the tickets you will need during a holiday in Amsterdam: from entrance tickets to the main attractions to public transport tickets, from discount cards to outdoor activities.

At several museums in Amsterdam such as the Van Gogh museum, ticket offices have been removed, so it is no longer possible to buy tickets on the spot, but you have to buy tickets online and in advance. This was already planned before the pandemic, but the Covid emergency has accelerated the process.

Admission tickets for top attractions

If you go to Amsterdam you will certainly visit the top attractions listed below: they are unmissable and very popular with tourists. Almost all attractions require a reservation, so it is highly recommended to buy tickets online before you go or in advance of your visit.

Amsterdam’s most important must-see museums are located in the Museumplein district and are the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum and the Stedelijk Museum. Also not to be missed are the Anne Frank House, the Amsterdam Museum, the Rembrandt House Museum and the Hermitage Amsterdam.

City Card

To save time and money on your trip to Amsterdam, we recommend purchasing the I Amsterdam City Card, which allows you unlimited travel on public transport and gives you free access to the most important museums and places of interest.

Transport tickets

The connections between the airport and the city centre are not included in the I Amsterdam City Card, so you can supplement it with an Airport Express bus ticket. Or, if you do not buy the tourist card, you will certainly only need the public transport card.
