The STRAAT Museum in Amsterdam is a museum of street art and graffiti, an art movement that has risen to prominence in recent years and gained more and more fans worldwide. The museum aims to share the passion for this artistic movement and to spread it to the public by showcasing works by the most influential names in the field, alongside young talents from all over the world.
Run by a team of enthusiastic and passionate street artists, STRAAT in Amsterdam currently showcases over 160 works by around 150 artists. Each of them was created on site, ranging from large outdoor murals to visual experiences. In all, the museum covers an area of 8000 square metres in a former warehouse in the NSDM wharf area in the Amsterdam-Noord district, which has always been one of the most popular areas for local street art artists.
The museum offers an all-round experience, including educational opportunities and guided tours to answer any questions non-experts may have about street art.
The collection of the STRAAT Museum in Amsterdam, as mentioned, showcases more than 160 works, but the complete museum holdings are much larger, as the works on display rotate often, and new ones are constantly being added, so that with a bit of luck you might even find artists at work during your visit.
The works are organised by theme, and accompanied by texts illustrating their complexity. The selection covers a wide range of styles, which can be found on walls all over the world.
Alongside STRAAT’s permanent collection, temporary exhibitions are very often dedicated to individual artists, groups of them, or different art movements.
Admission tickets for the STRAAT Museum can be purchased at the ticket counters or online. Reductions are available for 13 to 18 year olds, while children under 13 get in free. A private tour led by an expert guide can be purchased for an extra charge, while the audio guide is always included in the price.
It is also possible to purchase a museum membership, which is valid for 12 months and allows unlimited access and access to a range of discounts at the museum shop and café, as well as a number of benefits such as invitations to events and the possibility of purchasing advance tickets for limited exhibitions.

The STRAAT Museum in Amsterdam is located in NDSM Plein, a square in the Amsterdam-Noord district. The best way to get there is undoubtedly the F4 ferry, which leaves every 15 minutes from Central Station. The crossing, besides being very pleasant and scenic, takes about 15 minutes and stops directly at the NDSM pier. From there, it is about a two-minute walk to the entrance of the STRAAT Museum.
It is also possible to get there by bus, lines 391 and 391, both departing from the central station, which stop at Klaprozenweg, a few minutes’ walk from the museum entrance.
We strongly advise against the use of a car, as from the centre of Amsterdam you have to drive about 12 kilometres westwards, and the journey time is longer than by public transport; the advantage, however, is that parking is not difficult in the area.
The STRAAT Museum is located in the Amsterdam-Noord district, in NDSM-Plein, surrounded by the waters of the Dutch capital's canals, not far from NDSM-Pier.
