Rembrandts Amsterdam Experience

If you want to return to the Amsterdam of the 17th century, visit the Rembrandts Experience without delay, an immersive experience that will leave you speechless.

If you are an art lover on holiday in Amsterdam, you will certainly have visited Rembrandt’s House Museum among the city’s myriad attractions. But if you want to delve even deeper into the life and works of the famous Dutch painter, you can’t miss the Rembrandts Amsterdam Experience, an immersive museum that will take you on a 350-year journey back in time to discover a reconstruction of Rembrandt’s studio on the Rozengracht canal, where he created some of his most significant works.

What is the Rembrandts Amsterdam Experience

The Rembrandt Amsterdam Experience is a video-artistic experience lasting about 25 minutes, during which, transported by music, special effects and video projections, you will be catapulted into 17th-century Amsterdam: the place where Rembrandt lived.

In doing so, you will be able to visit a reconstruction of the painter’s studio, where you can meet him in person together with his partner Hendrickje Stoffels and his children Titus and Cornelia.

The show is available in English, as well as in Dutch, German, French, Russian, Spanish, Italian and Chinese. It can also be enjoyed by children, although some scenes are highly tense, and therefore close parental supervision is always recommended.

How to get to Rembrandts Amsterdam Experience

The Rembrandt Amsterdam Experience is located at Weteringschans 2, a stone’s throw from the Leidseplein. It is the building next to the disco Paradiso. You can easily get there by tram from the Leidseplein stop, where lines 1, 2, 5, 7, 12 and 19 stop, but also by bus, as several buses stop at the Leidseplein. It is also very pleasant to walk there from the central station, crossing the bridges over Amsterdam’s most famous canals and walking along some of the most iconic streets.

The metro, however, is not a suitable means of transport, as there are no stations nearby. Therefore, it is best to arrive at the central station and then continue by tram.
