Amsterdam RAI, the conference centre

The Amsterdam Rai is the most important conference centre in the Netherlands and hosts most of the international fairs, events and exhibitions held in the city.

The Amsterdam RAI congress centre, which stands for Rijwiel en Automobiel, the bicycle and automobile association, hosts more than 50 international congresses each year, including car shows, fashion events, horse races, exhibitions and sports and cultural events.

The RAI complex, the leading exhibition and congress centre in the Netherlands, covers 87,000 square metres and has 11 multifunctional halls and 64 conference and meeting rooms.

The conference centre houses the restaurants La Ronde and La Brasserie, has 4 self-service restaurants and since 2005 has had a city beach ideal for those who want to combine business and relaxation.

Events at the Amsterdam Rai

Every year, around 500 events are organised at the Amsterdam Rai, divided into international conferences, trade fairs, meetings and more than a thousand smaller conferences, presentations and meetings that attract around 1.5 million visitors a year. In addition, more than 25 national and international trade fair s are organised directly by the board of the Amsterdam Rai, making it the country’s leading exhibition centre.

IBC, International Broadcasting Convention

IBC Amsterdam, the International Broadcasting Convention, is a major annual trade fair for the world’s communications and entertainment professionals, content creators, managers and distributors. The convention takes place in September on the premises of theAmsterdam Rai.

From multimedia production to new devices, from applications to digital marketing, from social media to content personalisation, from big data to cloud services, the fair brings together the major international players in the world of communication and offers a 360° view of new ways of thinking about information technology.

An exhibition with 1,700 stands catering for all the needs of media professionals is set up during the fair.

The International Broadcasting Convention started in 1967 and today attracts over 60,000 information professionals from 170 countries.

How to get to the Amsterdam RAI

Reaching the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre, located in the southern part of Amsterdam‘s financial district, is very easy: a train connects the Amsterdam RAI station with the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport railway station in 10 minutes, while a jetty provides access by boat from the canal.

The Amsterdam RAI congress area is also conveniently accessible by public transport and a hire car.
